The Power Of Single Eyeshadows

Eyeshadow is a regular feature of my routine, more often than not I'll whip out a palette and end up applying a few different shades but there are some that look perfect on their own. Singles will usually be briefly swept over the lid to add a touch of colour and look an extra bit more polished. Call this 'the eyeshadow rave' all my favourite colours, formulas and brands bundled up into one ode, here's what made the cut...

Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in 45 Safari, £22, Boots
Chanel aren't a brand I usually reach for when it comes to eyeshadows, especially as their quads more than disappoint me for multiple reasons. Their Soft Touch Single Eyeshadows however are a different story. Beautiful, light, airy formula that blends beautifully into the skin. The shade 45 Safari, a light taupe with a slight subtle silver shimmer running through it that looks beautiful when picked up by the light.

L'Oreal Infalliable Eyeshadow in Amber Rush, £6.99, Boots
An eyeshadow formula I'll rave endless about, L'Oreal Infalliable Eyeshadows, which I've sworn my allegiance to multiple times around here. Creamy, unbelievably pigmented, blendable and long lasting - these are something that tick all boxes.  The shade Amber Rush, has been my favourite as of late,  that has been swept across my lids for lazy day loveliness.

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Pale Barley, £22.50, John Lewis
In the entirety of my stocks there's one eyeshadow brand that makes my purse strings loosen at the thought - Burberry. Their creamy formula makes them foolproof to apply, there's an array or neutral shades to choose from and the super luxe packaging makes them that extra bit special. Pale Barley has to be my favourite shade of the bunch, yes - I own five! (think Mac Patina but with a much more golden finish)

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense Eyeshadows, £26, Selfridges
One that rarely gets reached for, but is by far the most interesting, would be the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Eyeshadow in 2. A classier version of the L'Oreal Infalliable in formula but unlike any other in colour. More of a pressed pigment than an eyeshadow but actual mixed pigments, the shade 2 actually has hints of pink and blue included making it the most unique colour around.

Wild About Beauty Creme Eyeshadow in 03 Buster, £14, House Of Fraser
The ultimate shadow of the bunch? Wild About Beauty Creme Eyeshadow in 03 Buster. A beautiful cream to powder formula that's easy to apply and easy to blend - no brushes needed here! Despite the longevity not being anything to write home about the golden bronze shade looks so effortlessly beautiful on the lids, especially as the shimmer is so fine.

That ode to eyeshadow over, next on my list is another Wild About Beauty shade - perhaps Matilda. What are your favourite eyeshadows?
