3 Ways To...Fake A Glow

Nothing beats having that natural sun-kissed glow in Summer, but when it's slightly chillier and the sun is nowhere in sight is when it's time to pull out the three step regime that helps fake it...

1. The Gradual Glow

For an olive bronzed glow overnight nothing works as much magic as Xen Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe. The best part about is it keep your skin moisturised and it will last you the majority of seven days.

2. The Fast Fix

A quick fix for an foolproof instant glow is This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle. Nothing too orange or in yer face, just the perfect hint of a tan with a little added shimmer. (Without leaving your hands stained orange too!)

For extra enhancement St Tropez Skin Illuminator in Gold applied into collarbones, down the centre of arms and legs to add that extra somethin' somethin' and healthy pop.

3. The Face Solutions

First up are the glowing makeup bases, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector takes the cake for being the lightest, finely shimmered, blend-able glow that's hardly detectable. The shade Moonstone adds a touch of warmth, especially when used as a base before foundation.

Coming up close second is Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer Skin Illuminator which has been though many summers giving me the boost I need (sense the loved bottle). A real multi-tasker that works wonders mixed in with foundation for an all over luminosity or applied as a cheekbone highlight.

For something a bit more oily-skin friendly powders would be the way to go. Chanel's latest release Poudre Signé De Chanel Illuminating Powder, is perfect if you're after some subtle highlight. A gorgeous warm peach with a golden shimmer that illuminates and brightens.

On the other side of the highlighter spectrum there's Giella Eye M Glam the custom made highlighter for the highlighter queen herself, Kim Kardashian. A bolder, bronzer loose pigment that photographs beautifully.

Lastly for glowing lips Chantecaille's pinky peach gloss, Lucky is perfect. The golden shimmer running through it brighten and enhances lips giving a gorgeous glowing pout...

  3. I really need to get back into fake tan! Xen Tan was my go-to for years but in 2011 I fell in love with a real tan on holiday in Marrakesh, and unfortunatley I've never looked back.. I understand the dangers of sunbeds and really need to get over my addiction but nothing is more relaxing or warming after a day at the office (in the snow!) than ten minutes of vitamin D..

Need to put myself on a self-imposed ban and finally try the Absoloute Luxe lotion.. I still have an un-used bottle in my cupboard!

  13. I love that you've mentioned that the Xen tan gives an 'olive' glow as I think it's sooo important to get a fake tan that's the right tone for your skin. I'm olive skinned as well and a lot of tans can come up quite pink on me and look unnatural. Ordering Xen tan as we speak :-)
