Budget Buy: Revlon Ultimate Suede Lipsticks

Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks, £8.99 in 085 Trendsetter, 030 High Heels, 090 Private Viewing and 020 Front Row
Revlon keep knocking those lip releases out like there's no tomorrow, Lip Butters, Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains and their latest are a light, easy lipstick which go by the name of ColourStay Ultimate Suede

On applying them to the lips there's a feeling of instant hydration and buttery-softness but of course this suggests minimal staying power, which I'm pleased to report was not the case. After going out for dinner and forgetting to bring along the shade 085 Trendsetter (doh) my red lips were still in tact on my return, not to mention practically forgetting I was sporting a red lip - thumbs up for comfortable wear.

The lighter shades are a tad too shimmery for my liking but the more pigmented shades are perfect, two coats and that's all you need for a hydrating, pigmented long-lasting lipstick. The finish is what particularly tickles my fancy, halfway in between matte and glossy, not too matte that it looks 2D and not too glossy that you feel as though you have something on your lips. Think of a less creamy, lighter version of the Lip Butters with increased staying power.

Not the longest lasting lipsticks on the block but they've got the balance between hydrating and long-lasting down. The Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Suede lipsticks are £8.99 and currently 3 for 2 here

  6. Trendsetter looks great on you! I'm yet to try these but not sure if I can justify yet another lipstick purchase when I already own 50+ lippies.
