Beauty On Location: Birthday Season

Anyone else feel as though they have social seasons? Currently going through birthday season, apparently I only have friends with birthdays from January-March, but hey I'm not complaining. This particular Saturday night birthday was spent dancing the night away in a club, fully equipped with my trusty smokey eye and an SPF free foundation. For this somewhat wild occasion I whipped out my favourite ol' Herve Leger dress. Inappropriately tight but appropriately knee length (which I feel makes up for it...no?)

Ever have one of those moods where you spend ages getting ready on purpose? Music blaring, multiple outfit changes and all your eyeshadows lined up in a row ready for use. That's pretty much what went down at around 9pm on Saturday.

Time for experimenting - I applied my base favourite, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk with a Beauty Blender sponge and I think it paid off. Just when I thought Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk couldn't get anymore flawless! The BB sponge (post here) almost meshes foundation and concealer with the skin - the trick is to use it damp. A quick dusting of Chanel Les Beiges and popped into my clutch for touch ups.

Coated my cheeks in two recent loves, Clarins Summer Bronzing Compact and Chanel Poudre SingĂ©e. Clarins bronzer is part of their Summer collection and provides the most beautiful peachy glow so much so that I don''t feel the need for blush while the Chanel highlighting providing a golden glow that's indectectable in all the right ways.

When am I going to get over my obsession with smokey eyes? This one contained shades from Mac, Patina all over the lid, a bit of Mulch and Satin Taupe in the crease, Cork to define and Carbon along the lashline. Special kudos has to go to the amazing kohl liner that is Bobbi Brown, blendable, long lasting, smudgeable, doesn't tug at my lids and isn't one of those blacks that sometimes looks blue (pet peeve) - definitely the best kohl I've ever used. A coating of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara, slick of Clarins Lip Perfector and I was ready to go. Not before taking a few selfies of course to document my findings...

Which were:
- I will never fall out of love with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk
- Bobbi Brown Kohl Eyeliner is one of the best. Fact.
- The Beauty Blender makes everything look airbrushed
- Who needs blush when you have Clarins Summer Bronzing Compact?
