As LFW quickly approaches I've been reflecting on the last, the shows I went to and the trends that were predicted, one of the main being fresh and luminous skin. To me there's nothing more beautiful than peachy cheeks and golden glows giving us that 'lit from within' feeling. It won't be a surprise to you that I'm at the front of the pack, brush at the ready, prepared to parade palettes around to whoever's listening....
The one that's fool-proof - Clarins Eclat Face & Blush Powder £30
Clarins are always on it with their pretty palettes and their latest is no exception. You wouldn't expect the four coloured stripes to have an effect on your cheeks at all but they do - and a large one at that. One sweep can ensure easy, bronzed, peachy cheek perfect which is just what I'm after.
The one that's cool toned - Chantecaille Les Pétales De Roses Illuminating Face Powder £64
Not only am I lured into anything rose but the beautiful sprayed design and luxe packaging lured me in further. This is one of those all over highlighters that's so finelly milled you don't have to be careful with it at all. Big brush, small brush, heavy handed or very precise it's perfect for them all and produces the most beautiful winter appropriate frosty glow.
The one for girly girls - Mac Archie Girls PearlMatte Face Powder in Flatter Me
The item that will be most coveted from the Mac Archie Comics collection will be their face powders, a a golden peach blush embossed with coral hearts. Something you'd think would apply quite sheer but the hearts pick up well on the brush, giving an subtle flush of colour to the cheeks that's slightly highlighting. Overall the perfect Sunday morning 'pick-me-up' shade... (and the coral hearts are embossed all the way throughout the palette - it's not just an overspray!)
The one that's adventurous - Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder £40
Bobbi Browns palette had me intrigued, 5 different pastel shades, one slightly shimmery silver all swirled together to create a perfect colour correcting setting powder with an almost frosty finish that's hardly detectable on the skin.
The One that stole the show - Chanel Poudre Singé De Chanel Illuminating Powder £46
Part of the Chanel Spring Collection, Printemps Preciéux De Chanel, is their Poudre Singé, something I've been reaching for it almost on a daily basis for it's beautiful warm champagne shimmer. Designed to be dusted over the cheekbones, centre of the forehead, down the bridge of the nose and cupids bow to illuminate and brighten. Overall the perfect highlighter shade with the perfect consistency...
Such a great post :) nice to see them all in use! I think my favourite is the Mac one, although not sure I should be buying anything at all right now!

Isn't it!
DeleteThe Chanel powder is beautiful but I couldn't justify buying it. I managed to justify buying two lipsticks and a polish from the collection instead...much more economical :)

I'm so tempted to get the Chanel. I have the Dior Amber Diamonds highlighter...have you tried it? If you have, do you think they're different enough from each other? Great review!
