'A Cult Buy' would be the words I would use when describing Guerlain's Terracotta Bronzing Powders. After been around since 1984, there's nothing else that beats it's perfect formula and radiant finish.
Their Moisturising Bronzing Powder in 03 is the bronzer for me; its beautifully soft, warm and buildable colour provides a natural yet slightly shimmery finish. If you're after a natural glow that subtly sculpts the face whilst giving a sophisticated 'touch of sun' then this is definely the way to go. In terms of application, piled on a big fluffy brush and swept around the outer perimeters of the face, where the sun would naturally hit, would be the way I normally go for it.
Onto another offering - Terracotta Four Seasons, which has been gracing my cheeks for well over two years for it's warm matte, long-lasting finish that's perfect for contouring. Plus each compact includes four shades so one could get really technical with the contour.
Not only do the actual powder compacts themselves last forever (it's been two years and I'm yet to hit pan!) but the actual colour does too, which is where Terracotta stood out to me the most. After often finding myself coming home to the blotchly remains of what was originally a beautifully sculpted cheekbone (Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder, I'm looking at you) which, needless to say, was not the look I was after.
Guerlains naturally luminous compacts will set you back £34, not your average priced bronzer but it's the best out there. Fact. So there you have it, a rave on a fool-proof bronzer that's long lasting, pigmented and natural, all wrapped up in the fancy dancy packing you'd expect from Guerlain. Now if only the sun would come out and I wouldn't have to fake it as much...
i love your blog so much, its so cute.

I always hear about Guerlain powders but have yet to try any. This sounds great, I was sold at matte :)
ReplyDeleteThe only bronzers ever to go near my face are Guerlain's Terracottas and Chanel's Soleil Tan. I also own Orient Sun from 2008's Soleils de Légende collection, which has quite a bit of shimmer but looks really natural and not at all overdone.
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to try something from Guerlain! One day I will convince myself to splurge ;) x
ReplyDeleteim loving bobbi brown in golden light as its the only bronzer i;ve managed to find that doesn't make me look orange! Chanel's offerings have left me looking a little too tangoed!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing, I've heard so many good things about the Guerlain bronzers plus it's great that it comes in matte.

I've always found the Guerlain shades terribly orangey in real life, even though it doesn't look it in your pic - maybe better for non pale faces like me!
