Strawberry Foam Rollers & Curls

Beauty Mart Strawberry Foam Rollers £6.95 for four
10:19am - Spotted on the Beauty Mart Twitter: adorable strawberry foam rollers.
10:22am - Added straight to the top of the Amelia Liana wish-list.
12:35pm - Trotted out of Harvey Nichols, strawberry foam rollers held firmly in one hand, Estelle & Thild Cleansing Milk in the other. Cue one very intrigued customer...

Somewhere between 1022 and 1235 on that dreary Wednesday, the image of Beauty Mart's strawberry foam rollers played in my mind. There was hardly any negotiating that they had to be put to the test. Which is exactly what went down on the 3rd floor of Harvey Nichols. As I swatched the latest shades of Daniel Sandler lipsticks and chatted to Millie, ten minutes later that one limp piece of hair held up by a foam strawberry had turned into a curl. Don't believe me? It's lucky I documented the first use!

Confused and slightly sceptical that what is essentially a pretty piece of foam just curled my unruly locks (especially without heat) I took them home to further investigate. You know what, I'm still not sure how they manage to work - but they do - and even better on first day hair that's light and fluffy.

Apply in an upward twisting motion on small sections of hair, let them secure themselves and leave for as long as possible. Only problem is the curls don't last as long as there's no heat to hold them. So comfortable I've even had a nap with them in...

Intrigued to give foam rollers a go?

  2. No heat curls? I really AM intrigued. I'd be tempted to try these myself, with different sprays to see if I could get the curls to last.

They look SO cute, as well.

  3. They look so cute in, I've seen lots in shops lately and wondered what they'd be like.
Love the curls they create, wonder if you could heat them with a hairdryer then pop in to see if that set the curl for longer.

  12. Wow this looks amazing - I wonder if there's anywhere in South Africa I could find these. It curled your hair beautifully.

It would be perfect for me this month as I am on a kind of hair 'detox'... involving a load of vitamins, a better diet (for my hair not my weight..just to clarify!) and abstaining from heat styling.
One week down and I am actually really loving it! I can shower every night without worrying because I'll ruin my 1 day old straightened hair.. what a waste!

I really recommend everyone tries it for a month.
I've taken a before photo of the length and condition of my hair and by the 28th I'll show to results! Excited to see!

  13. These look so cute in your hair! My hair doesn't hold curls very well so heat is necessary unfortunately!

  15. They're so cute! These rollers sound great, especially as they don't use heat. It kind of sucks that the curls don't last too long though... x
