My Makeup: The Origins Face

After finally arriving at the 'Origins-now-do-makeup' party (hey! At least I got there in the end) I've been giving some of their releases a whirl and here's the breakdown...

First up their Planscrition Anti-aging Foundation & Concealer, after originally shying away from the words 'anti-ageing' only to find that the texture is easily blendable, the finish is dewy and provides medium coverage but without amazing longevity. (Oh and it smells a tad like paint!) Not my favourite foundation but a good staple for crappy skin days where I'm in need of slightly more coverage.

The concealer gets a big thumbs up - full coverage, blendable, doesn't go cakey and isn't drying. Less is definitely more here as the more you use, the more it creases so dabbing on with the applicator and blending with the ring finger is what I've found to be most effective.

Despite the eyeshadow shade 17 Golden Ticket making me look a little tired (really not sure it's a flattering colour!) the texture is incredible, extremely richly pigmented and creamy. Applied with fingers or a brush and both give an amazing wash of colour to the lids that doesn't crease over time and is one of those rare textures I don't feel the need to use with a primer!

Lastly the mascara, which I originally raved about here, their GinZing Brightening Mascara, which works wonders at lengthening and lifting but lacks in adding volume.

So there you have it - The Origins Face. Overall standouts are the eyeshadow, closely followed by the concealer. Perhaps when I go to pick up some of my favourite Drink Up Intensive I'll indulge in some more eyeshadow shades! Intrigued to try any Origins makeup?
