Budget Buy: A Dupe For L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil?

Sanctuary Spa 2 Day Moisture Shower Oil £6.99 Boots (for 250ml whereas L'Occitane is £16.50)
I've always felt that no matter what brand, soap is soap. Regardless of what fancy-pants packaging it's in, properties it claims to have and if its made with the deepest of deep sea waters. They all aim at doing the same thing, which made me not particularly fussed about what's in my shower.

However, L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil made me eat my words - the most luxurious, hydrating, smooth, gorgeous shower oil and once you've tried it, you won't be able to be without it. One 250ml bottle does set you back a whopping £16.50, and for something that only hangs about on your skin for a matter of seconds, its worth is debateable.

When Sanctuary Spa's latest range popped up on my radar, it was time to get involved. The Long Lasting Moisture Oils Collection - sounds amazing non? Scrubs, oils and moisturisers but what particularly took my fancy was their 2 Day Moisture Shower Oil.

As far as comparisons are concerned - the scent isn't as fabulous or overpowering as L'Occitane (great if you dislike almonds), it doesn't lather up as much and doesn't feel as oily on the skin. All can be perceived good or bad depending on your likes. BUT Sanctuary Spa would be a great option if you've been putting L'Occitane to one side in order to prolong fake tan for those reasons.

In terms of application Sanctuary Spa recommends massaging into damp skin before turning on the shower, which did result is more lathering and softer skin. As far as body oils go L'Occitane is still in the lead but Sanctuary Spa is coming up a close second...

  4. What a lovely find! I've spent a good amount of time staring at L'Occitane's shower oil on the shelf, debating whether or not my bank balance could survive such a luxury, but maybe now I won't have to. Off to see if I can get this in the states! x

  6. I've never actually tried the L'Occitane shower oil even though I've heard so much about it so maybe I should give this one a go instead - great price point.
