There's a great range high to low end range in my collection, focusing on concealer these are two that I favour, neither of which will come as a surprise as you've seen both on here before. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer & By Terry Touche Veloutee.
If there's one thing that impacts my looks more than anything it's concealer. Hiding circles, redness or blemishes it's just a godsend for acne sufferers, late night ravers and those of us who are a little redder in skin tone.
Let's just get one thing straight - there are by no means dupes, the formulas are totally different. By Terry doesnt crease, doesnt look or feel heavy and in fact, hardly looks like makeup at all. I could rave about this stuff till the universe ends, the major downfall is it only comes in 3 shades. which is something that the Collection Concealer doesnt excel at either having a poor selection of only four. The By Terry is one of those 'I'm not wearing concealer' concealers that make you appear as though you actually get 10 hours worth of sleep. The clicky pen makes it easy to use and easy to apply, especially in the mornings when time can be limited.
Lasting Perfection Concealer is more of a richer formula, it's very high coverage and takes blending into the skin for it to look natural. It's one of the best drugstore concealers I've found. The doe foot applicator gets dabbed on little areas of redness that my foundation doesnt seem to cover - around the nose, chin and such. The packaging isn't the best around but a little goes a long way with this stuff and it lasts the entire day. It does have the tendency to go a little cakey but that's nothing a little pat with fingers doesn't sort out.
In this case you do pay for what you get - two truly excellent concealers I would recommend to anyone. These are my two favourites - staples, that I haven't been able to find better. At least for now...
I really want to give the By Terry concealer a go, I've heard such great things about it! Great post :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment Jennifer - I'm so pleased you liked the post! You really should give the By Terry a go and let me know if you do!
DeleteI love both too! x
ReplyDeleteMakeup snap :)
Deletei absoltely adore the collection 2000 concealer. i recently gave in to the blogger hype around it, and now i dont think i'll ever look back. i cant believe its a drugstore concealer. by the way, your pictures are stunning, really nice idea having the candle in the shot :) xx
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's wonderful - especially for the price! Thanks so much for the lovely comment :)
DeleteI have seen a lot of bloggers raving about the collection 2000 concealer lately. I have been using Benefits concealers for the past couple of years and they are really worth their price but as I can't afford that right now I may pick up a collection 2000 one when I go to Boots later :)

Ah Cath I thought exactly the same! Had it for a while before I got round to trying it but I'm super happy I did! xx
DeleteI am in love with the By Terry concealer, I use to crease marks and any other concealer looks cakey under my eyes but this is just amazing x
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike ;) So happy you love it too! Thanks for the comment :) x
DeleteI've never heard of By Terry concealer, but it sounds fantastic! I don't always believe you get what you pay for, some products are really expensive and rubbish, and some which are over half the price are 10x better, it's just working out what products are worth the price tag and which aren't! x
ReplyDeleteSirens and Bells
Exactly Katy! Sometimes something that is sooo expensive is so disappointing! It's such a shame but oh well! Part of the fun of trying new things! xx
DeleteThanks for the post! Does the By Terry concealer work as an all-around concealer (dark circles, blemishes, redness), or is it better to use just under the eyes?

I wouldn't use it on blemishes as it has slight highlighting properties so wouldn't want to draw attention to any blemishes! Redness and under the eyes it's perfect! xx
DeleteI really want to try By Terry concealer, looks great!
ReplyDeleteI really like Collection concealer, but some time I think it is a bit heavy and need a lot of blending.
Great post!

DeleteHave heard countless praises for the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer and I've always wanted to give it a try. As I have really bad case of dark circles under my eyes I might have to stop being lazy and give this a try :)
ReplyDeleteAh you should! It's a little too thick for under my eyes but if that's what you're looking for then go for it! Hope you enjoy Diane :) xx
DeleteAn interesting discussion is definitely worth comment. I believe that you ought to publish more about this subject matter,
ReplyDeleteit might not be a taboo matter but usually people don't discuss such topics. To the next! Many thanks!!
