Previous posts here, such as Mascara Mixing, indicate the lack for finding 'the one' when it comes to mascara. The closest I've ever gotten is
Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill which does an excellent job at lengthening and volumizing and has a
similar brush to my latest purchase,
Lancome Hypnose Star.
The brush is something very unique as it has
two sides as well as being
triangular shaped. One side that's practically flat, with medium length packed bristles which is for packing all the product onto the lash, being able to get right down to the root. The other side, with medium packed long bristles is made for separating and lengthening lashes. For application I use the flat side first then alternate between the two.
The overall effect isn't too dramatic, definitely a mascara I would slap on in the day time as it adds decent
length and volume. It's pretty
buildable, I managed to build up to three or four coats but I expect once the formula dries up a little that will grow. One thing it does lack a little is adding thickness, so I'm back with layering mascaras and this time I found
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black to be a great match! Overall very impress with my first Lancome mascara. Oh, and it also has a sparkly tube
Lancome Hypnose Star is £21
Have you ever tried any Lancome mascaras? What did you think?
great review hun! I like Lancome mascaras a lot, so would like to give this one a try - for the sparkly blue tube if nothing else! x
ReplyDeleteHaha! Exactly it's the cutest :) x
DeleteThis looks like a really good mascara, I've never tried a Lancome one x
ReplyDeleteSirens and Bells
Your eyelashes look amazing! I use the Lancome Hypnose Drama but it's just about ran out so might try that for a change!

DeleteI have doll eyes :) really like it, this one sounds fab :D
ReplyDeleteIt's great :D x
DeleteYour lashes do look amazing but I'm afraid it looks a bit clumpy too. I like brushes with more defined bristles because they tend to clump less.
ReplyDeleteAh you should probably check out Eyeko Skinny Mascara which I blogged about a couple of weeks ago :) Sounds better for you! x
DeleteI have the Hypnose Drama Mascara which is amazing for adding lots of volume and thickness to your lashes! However, just like you I'm all about mascara mixing, I find that the mascara looks incredible over L'Oréal Telescopic :)
ReplyDeleteAlso a bit of a random question here, I love your mani and was wondering what color you are wearing?

DeleteThat sounds interesting. But I'm stuck on Maybelline's New York Great lash mascara, I don't know, but somehow it's my alltime favourite :)
ReplyDeleteOooh I haven't tried that one! May have to give it a go! x
DeleteI think it looks clumpy but from the photos, it gives you that '60s look, which I love.
ReplyDeleteSadly, mascaras are something I refuse to splurge on and will admire from afar!
Max Factor do great drugstore alternatives if you're looking for one! x
DeleteThis looks like such a nice mascara will defo pick this up next time i'm out :) x
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it Ellie! x
DeleteIt looks really good, but because of my lashes, I usually need a plastic brush to make my lashes look a lot longer than usual. :( Nx
