Along with my quest to find the perfect foundation comes with my quest for the perfect mascara, something lengthening volumising and thickening. Unfortunately not one mascara I've tried does all three things to my needs, especially since I hate curling my lashes. The one that has come the closest is the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill, which I talked about in more depth here, but for my lashes it works a dream. That was until one day about a year ago I picked up an empty tube from my stash coated my lashes once and then chucked it away, and then followed to apply L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black over the top. The combination of the two made my lashes look like extensions! It was beautiful! I then decided that this would be my new daily mascara combo.
I continued to experiment layering different mascaras for different effects. Of course, there is always a bit of hit and miss that comes with this, it could go horribly wrong and I have ended up looking like I've got three lashes, but it also has gone really right.
The combinations I tend to lean towards are the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill with the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black and when I need my lashes to be really dramatic, most likely for night time, I'll use the Dior DiorShow Lash Serum and Primer as a base before applying any mascara. (post here)Another little mix is the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara with the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black or the MaxFactor Masterpiece Max with the YSL Shocking Effect Faux Cils.

This doesn't happen everyday, just when my lashes need a bit of oomph without the palava of applying false ones!

DeleteI started doing this a few months back as I found it hard to find a mascara that did everything in one. It definitely takes extra time in the morning but I much prefer the finished look. :)
