The Flawless Face Brush

28 May 2012

Searching for the perfect tool for applying foundation is always something that interests me as perfect skin is something I try and achieve on a daily basis. For a while I really got into my Beauty Blender (post here) but these are so hard to maintain, especially for a germophobe like me. I found myself having to wash them a couple of times a day and ended up not having the time. Needless to say they get saved for special occasions.

After hearing wonderful things about the Shu Uemura brushes, especially them being a ‘beauty editors favourite’ I indulged in my first, Natural 18 Foundation Brush. Very short and dense but flexible and extreeemely soft! Its one of those brushes that can be used like a foundation brush for actually ‘painting’ the face or like a buffing brush, for working the foundation into the skin in circular motions. Both I find, makes the foundation look like a dream – from full coverage to tinted moisturiser.

My Makeup: Face In Five

As much as I love spending aggges getting ready I often don't have the time. I'm sure you've all been there with the 'I'll see you in five minutes' plans when really you're still lounging around nowhere near ready! I tend to look for quick 'do everything' products like the latest Chanel bronzer I've picked up as well as some cream products that I know won't slip around in the heat

New In: Caudalie Divine Oil

27 May 2012

My body oil collection recently expanded thanks to this latest release from Caudalie. Moisturising is something that I try to make happen on a daily basis, especially in summer and I do prefer to use body oils as opposed to moisturiser as in general they sink into the skin faster and smell nicer! If you've tried or loved the Nuxe Multipurpose Dry Oil this is definitely something to check out - smells basically the same, like summer in a bottle! Really moisturising and absorb a little faster than the Nuxe. I absolutely love using body oils in the summer to give my skin some glow and radiance as well as really moisturising. When I've been sitting in the sun and skin and hair is looking a little parched I just run this through my hair with my hands as it smells amazing and it really nourishing.

Liana Beauty Award: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

26 May 2012

Whenever my friends ask me for foundation recommendations there are two I will always mention, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, which I raved about here, and NARS Sheer Glow. It's just one of those foundations everyone loves! First thing, don't be put off by the word 'glow'. For a girl who doesn't love a glowy finish its the perfect combination between matt and glow - doesn't make skin look shiny or greasy but has a lovely natural look about it that acts like a glow. It delivers medium coverage, even though NARS describe it as 'sheer' and can be easily buildable which I really like especially for days where I just need to slap something on!

My Royal Manicure With Dior

Until the 30th of May Dior in Selfridges are doing Royal Manicures where you can have you nails painted with the new Dior shades. Followed by a new nail machine that imprints designs by Dior onto your nails! The designs include 'Addict' 'CD' and a crown amongst 8 others!
The machine is probably the coolest thing ever! It holds your finger in place while spraying on your chosen design! I opted for 'Addict' on one nail and the crown on the other (see below)
